I just stumbled across these amazing prints on the
Brooklyn Museum web catalog. I'm actually supposed to be writing about something pre 1500, so I can't use them for my paper, but I just spent about an hour checking them out on the website. The museum has scans of every print (as they are not often on display because they are so fragile) and they even have a pretty cool interactive zooming function, which is a lot of fun. Needless to say, I hope they put some of these on display soon. The color is amazing. I'm really impressed with how muted yet saturated everything is... if that even makes sense. I'm supposed to be learning how to talk about color in class, but I still feel unclear about the best way to describe it.
Here's a screenshot of the zoom feature:

These are super cool. I'm probably going to try to do some studies of a couple of them sometime soon. First I have to write my art history paper and the five million other homework items. I wish I had some more time to draw. I have a bunch of sketches to upload, but haven't had time to digitize them. Hopefully I can fit it in this week.
